Brick Showroom Display

The brief for this display was primarily to hold a brick of every type, to assist the Sales Team in educating architects and clients about the production processes and resultant properties of each variant. Bricks are very tactile objects, so handling them is crucial in making an informed choice for any given project.

The second requirement of the brief was for the display to separate two sections of the showroom, whilst being airy and open. This meant the shelves needed to span a large distance, whilst being strong enough to hold a considerable amount of weight. The shelves contain 3 vertical internal panels, acting like ‘I’ beams, making them remarkably rigid.

The brief also mandated that the display was to be made from bricks. The main pillars are hollow MDF sections with corner pistol slips adhered to them, achieving the required aesthetic whilst keeping the display's weight as low as possible.

The graphic components of the display are printed directly to 3mm Foamex, whilst the shelves are lined with rubber ‘penny’ matting, to allow for continual removal and replacement of the bricks, without damaging the display.
